Job Title: Open Data and Freedom of Information Specialist ( Onsite)

Location: Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) 

Duration : 1 year ( with potential for extension)

Job Overview:

As the Open Data and Freedom of Information Specialist for the NDMO (National Data Management Office) Framework Phase 1 at aNumak & Company, you will be entrusted with the critical responsibility of implementing policies to promote transparency and accessibility of data for our client in Jeddah, KSA. This role requires a seasoned professional with over a decade of experience in open data initiatives and freedom of information regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of policies and strategies to promote transparency and accessibility of data, in alignment with the objectives of the NDMO Framework Phase 1 project.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to assess data availability and identify opportunities for enhancing transparency and accessibility.
  • Design and implement processes and procedures for releasing data in compliance with freedom of information regulations and best practices.
  • Develop training programs and materials to raise awareness of open data principles and promote data literacy among stakeholders.
  • Monitor compliance with open data policies and regulations, providing guidance and support to ensure adherence.
  • Act as a liaison with government agencies, advocacy groups, and the public to facilitate the exchange of information and promote open data initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and developments in open data and freedom of information, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Public Policy, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in open data initiatives, freedom of information regulations, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of open data principles, freedom of information regulations, and data governance best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex data access and transparency issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a consulting environment, managing multiple priorities and stakeholders.
